Job Title: Senior Staff/ Lead Teacher To provide classroom leadership, design and implement intervention for children enrolled in the Preschool; Pre-K; Infant and Toddler Programs. Co-manage Teacher Assistants. Provide feedback to aid in Performance Evaluation of the Teacher Assistants and work as a team to enforce positive learning and a positive environment for the children to grow while they learn. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES • Implement a program based on sound principles of child development. • Ensure that written lesson plans, progress reports, data sheets and other. pertinent documentation is completed. • Design and implement activities to meet each child’s goals and objectives. • Ensure that updated records are maintained for each child assigned to the classroom • Conduct annual assessments and other assessments as assigned. • Provide supervision to classroom staff. • Assist in identifying and implementing age-appropriate behavior management techniques. • Participate in staff training activities and staff development. • Participate in transition process when applicable. • Maintain appropriate cleanliness of room and materials including strict. adherence to universal precautions • Interact positively with children and function as an appropriate adult role model. • Communicate effectively in English; apply concepts of integrated curriculum. development in a non-biased manner • Give and follow written and oral instructions. • Maintain cooperative working relationships and demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population. • Exercise judgment and discretion in analyzing and resolving problems. • Function as classroom team leader and prepare and present relevant information at team meetings, and parent meetings. • Ensures that written and verbal communication with parent consistently occurs using documentation. • Facilitate family participation through home and center-based activities. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE • 90 hours’ certification in various age groups. • CDA is desired but not necessary. • Current CPR and First Aid • Credentialing from the State Department of Education is required. • Professional goal to work towards the credentialing, bachelor’s and/or CDA Commitment to receive at least 18 hours of training per year, based on Credential Level and growth to the next level. • Professional experience supervising or educating children plus completion of early childhood education course work. Responsibilities also include curriculum development and family communication.
